Head of Sourcing & Purchasing

At Beyond Talent we are collaborating with a worldwide consolidated lifestyle brand that is currently searching for a strategic leader to be the new Head of Sourcing to join its international team in Spain.

The company is looking for an ambitious candidate to lead the manufacturing and purchasing process and ensure productivity is cost effective for the company. Sustainability is an important factor for this company; therefore, we are looking for an expert that could also lead the sustainability team.

Reporting to the CPO, and managing a team of 30 people, you will be the core to the company’s management team and at the center of the cross-functional collaboration between Buying, Quality, Demand Planning, Logistic functions to increase the 360 product and the purchasing strategy of the company.

We are looking for someone who will possess the leadership and communication attributes required to successfully manage a team, as well as understand the strategies to create efficiencies and help drive profitability.

Responsibilities

• Establish efficient sourcing strategies, together with the Product Category Director and in compliance with the company strategic goals.
• Ensure the proper supply of fabrics and samples for the design teams, by analyzing trends, forecasts, attending to specific fairs/events, prospecting and negotiating with suppliers all over the world for the appropriate performance of his/her functions.
• Define and ensure the implementation of sourcing plans and sustainable initiatives (e.g. new suppliers agreements, homologation processes), with the proper stakeholders (internal or external), exploring also strategic alliances with key fabric suppliers.
• Foster continuous improvement and optimize the processes under your responsibility.
• Plans, develops, directs, and implements complex business strategies through the establishment of short/long-range objectives, change management, performance goals, and metrics for each spend category
• Provide guidance and support to the costing managers.
• Improving the performance, efficiency and effectiveness and ensure factories Raw material costing strategies are successfully implemented
• Seek out and implement new methods to reduce manufacturing time and increase productivity
• Ensure that suppliers’ practices, processes and products are ethical, sustainable and environmentally friendly, according to companie’s behavior code in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility, the human rights law and other external regulations.
• Responsible for leading, motivating and challenging the sourcing organization to assure a competitive advantage is being delivered
• Review and coordinate the quality control actions to be undertaken with suppliers (product quality inspections, quality control requirements, etc.), preparing the Quality Manual in partnership with the Quality Coordinators, in order to ensure compliance with the company quality procedures and policies

Skills required

• Minimum 7 year’s experience as a Lead Sourcing & Purchasing manager
• CSR background
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and import sourcing practices / procedures
• Bachelor's in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar
• Product knowledge (texture and materials)
• Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Proven people leader: ability to manage others and build successful cross-functional partnerships
