HEAD OF DESIGN - FOOTWEAR

Our client, a well-known global luxury company, is looking for a Head of Footwear Design to join its creative team. As a Head of Footwear, you will be responsible for establishing the briefing process of the main footwear collection, as well as the sneakers collection, overseeing the wider design function for both M/W categories.

Reporting into the VP of Creative, you will lead the footwear strategies and implementation of design guidelines of the Company, creating exclusive collections that will not only engaged the GEN-Z, but also creatively impact the luxury sector. The Head of Footwear Design job will partner with the rest of the stakeholders and the design team to ensure footwear range at premium level across all product categories is executed, to ensure commercial success.

Responsibilities of the Head of Design Footwear:

• Create and drive the global design strategy for all footwear categories, including the sneakers line, to ensure the products are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality
• Formulate new and innovative ways to take the global footwear business to the next stage of growth by understanding and defining the DNA of the brand, developing successful new footwear products, collaborating and influencing global teams to achieve outstanding results.
• Analyze and identify future trends, new generation competitor and consumer activity for mid to long term positioning.
• Promote Innovation and culture of creativity across Design and overall Product Creation organization
• Responsibile for the development, approval, and production of all creative work
• Communicating the company's creative vision to the design teams and the stakeholders
• Ensure commercial viability of concepts and products
• Lead a team of creative designers
• Partner with Head of Development, Marketing & Category leads to ensure that business needs are met through creative and achievable designs.
• Partner with Apparel Leadership to drive holistic brand aesthetic, merchandised product range, and seasonal color pallette across brand.
• Evaluate and maximize team’s performance through performance review process and individual development, coaching, skill acquisition and general design performance.

The Ideal Candidate

• Luxury or sportswear design background
• Sneakers design guru
• 7+ years of experience driving the footwear design vision/creation, cross-functional execution and growth of a global footwear business.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients.
• Leadership and managerial skills
