As the company embarks on a significant phase of expansion and elevates its market position, we are seeking an experienced Production Manager with deep expertise in denim to lead and optimize the production processes.
The Production Manager - Denim Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of denim production, including fabric sourcing, trim selection, washing techniques, and quality assurance. This role requires a deep understanding of denim materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards, with a focus on delivering premium quality products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in denim production, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Source and select premium denim fabrics and trims that align with the brand’s quality and aesthetic standards.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure fabric and trim selections meet both creative and functional requirements.
- Manage relationships with fabric mills and suppliers, negotiating terms, lead times, and pricing to ensure optimal value and quality.
- Develop and oversee washing processes to achieve desired denim finishes, including distressing, fading, and other effects, while ensuring consistency across production runs.
- Stay updated on the latest denim washing technologies and techniques, and implement innovative processes that enhance product quality and sustainability.
- Establish and maintain strict quality control standards throughout the denim production process, from fabric inspection to final product review.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimize production efficiency.
- Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality denim products in line with market demands.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, development, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of production plans.
- Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with denim mills, washing facilities, and trim suppliers, ensuring alignment with the brand’s standards and values.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and vendors, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Lead efforts to incorporate sustainable practices into denim production, including the use of eco-friendly materials, water-saving technologies, and waste reduction strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in denim production management within a premium or luxury brand.
- In-depth knowledge of denim fabrics, trims, washing techniques, and quality control standards.
- Strong understanding of production processes, including sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality products on time and within budget
