Product Development Manager

We are collaborating with the leading global performance motorsports and auto apparel company, with the search of a Product development manager to join its moto R&D Department based in its European Head Quarter. The product development manager role will be responsible for the Moto touring development, managing the products to create innovative, high-quality, technical products. Reporting to the Product Director, the product development manager jobs will manage the apparel projects (research and propose construction, technologies, materials, etc.) with respect of objectives of cost, performance, quality, sustainability, deadlines, aesthetics, etc.

For this role we are looking for a professional specialized in developing technical moto clothing products.


Main Responsibilities of a Product Development Manager:

  • Manage apparel projects (research and propose construction, technologies, materials, etc.) with respect of objectives of cost, performance, quality, sustainability, deadlines, aesthetics, etc.
  • Define areas of product improvement and innovation;
  • Monitor product range performance and follow up with feedback; propose any corrective actions to optimize products to offer the upmost comfort, durability and performance;
  • Material management: relationship-management with and reception of key suppliers, continuous monitoring of new suppliers and innovative material, management of materials (up-to-date catalogues, suitable suppliers, organized and accessible materials);
  • Responsibility for the testing of products based on existing resources (internal guidelines, etc.) and creation of testing networks if necessary;
  • Monitor the market: brands, innovations, customers, etc.
  • Manage budgets;
  • In addition to the tasks and responsibilities above, the job holder may be required to carry out other tasks assigned.

Qualifications for a Product Development Manager:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Strong knowledge of the moto or technical outdoor products
  • Relevant education in a related discipline;
  • Familiarity with production processes;
  • Proactive approach demonstrating strong initiative, energy and passion while a having an eye for product detail;
  • Analytical and logical thinking;
  • Strong interpersonal/listening skills; team-player;
  • Persuasive/confident/influential communicator;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Fluency in English (Italian or any other language is a plus);
